When we return, we will pick up right where we left off. To take care of a few housekeeping items...
Spelling test: We will have the same words this week and test over them on Friday February 14th.
Speaking of February 14th, we will have a Valentine Party on Friday as well. A flyer about this will go home as soon as we get back to school. If you can send in any juice boxes or popcorn for our party feel free. Also, students who would like to bring valentines to exchange are welcome to. Student names will be on the flyer I send home this week.
The book fair will also be going on as soon as we return. Students received a flyer of available books when we were at school last.
We will begin our study of Black History month when we return. We'll be learning about American heroes, as well as important African Americans in American history.
Also, please note that in the next Wednesday folders you will receive several important pieces of work from January. First, January behavior calendars are being sent home. Keep in mind that these are colored to show where students ended on the clip chart for the day. Colors like green, orange, purple, and blue are all good choices. Yellows, pinks, and reds are not. :) The homework graphs for the month of January are also included, black pieces of the pie are days that your student was missing homework. (All of this is also available for you to view on your child's Class Do Jo report.)
You will also see our pre assessment for the unit of Everyday Math we are currently working. This test was given BEFORE students were taught this content. If you see a low score, please don't be alarmed, we're looking to see these improve once they've learned the content of Unit 6.
I'm ready to get back in the swing of things. I hope to see all our babies tomorrow. :)
